Absolutely lovely food! The Italian platter was lush and I could have eaten a whole bowl of their prosseco sorbet! My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed her meal too.....especially when a little mix up in the kitchen resulted in her getting an adult sizes Strawberry sundae instead of a kids one, she looked like the cat that got the cream or should I say ice cream!
Must be our 3rd visit and we will definitely be back again soon (there are lots on the new menu to try).
First of all the staff are so kind, we had a little wobble but they handled it so professionally and perfectly.
Next up, the food was stunning. I had a chef's platter, squid and garlic mushrooms for starters and all of them were so tasty. My favourite of the three was the chefs board, which had this crispy and delicious chicken.
For mains we had two plates of fish and I had the pork belly. I tried a bit of the fish and they tasted great. And my dish was amazing. The rice was well seasoned and had plenty of tasty veg, and the pork belly was crispy and delicious.
For dessert, we had two lemon and blueberry cheesecakes, which once again just were perfect. I was definitely full after this meal. And all the prices were extremely fair.
Finally, the place looks beautiful, and just felt very homely. I will definitely be coming here again with my partner next time, and I can't wait to show him this incredible place!
August visit - Food was served very quickly. King prawns starter was very good but only 3 prawns. The wild boar burger was cooked very well, moist and moreish. The vegetarian tart was delicious, a wonderful combination of fresh seasonal vegetables.
Only quibble - it was very warm inside. The side door should have been open and/or portable air conditioning units would have helped make the atmosphere more bearable.
October visit
Wonderful Sunday dinner.
Starters - Pea and prawn risotto was so good, very well cooked and full of flavour. The creamy mushrooms on ciabatta has been a favourite for ages and did not disappoint this time either.
Main - Veggie Wellington was deep-filled with mushrooms and a gorgeous gravy like sauce, so it was more like a pie than a traditional Wellington but was absolutely gorgeous! Roast potatoes were more like new potatoes deep fried, rather than roasties. The steak and ale pie was described as delicious.
Service was very good and quick.
